About this course
Working with clients on their employment and training journeys can be incredibly rewarding and meaningful. At the same time, it can be exhausting and emotionally demanding, especially when we are supporting clients who have lived through trauma. To effectively serve these clients, workforce practitioners need access to the most practical and effective tools for reducing secondary stress and burnout.
This interactive workshop presents the CE-CERT model, a functional, evidence-based set of tools and techniques that can be used across roles and disciplines to reduce secondary stress and burnout and strengthen secondary or vicarious resilience. In this session, we will dive into each of the 5 components of CE-CERT, and experiment with practices and methods that you can apply in your daily work with clients, to support your overall well-being and ability to sustain this vital work.
After this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify some of the ways secondary stress shows up in their current work
- Describe, in lay terms, the 5 components of the CE-CERT model
- Apply into their daily work 2-3 evidence-informed practices for reducing secondary stress and reducing burnout
