About the course
(formerly Online, Together)
A 7-week course, in Learning Together participants gain a foundational knowledge of best practices in adult-learning, and apply that knowledge to the development of an employment and training experiential learning modules that can be delivered online or in-person. This course is the new version of Online, Together.

What you will learn

How to structure applied learning (both online and in-person)

Designing workshops and other learning interventions for social and emotional learning, as well as cognitive and applied skill development

How to create clear, relevant, and powerful learning objectives to shape program design

How to increase a sense of belonging, confidence and motivation among learners

Creative strategies for facilitating online and in-person, and maximizing peer-to-peer learning and exchange

Applying trauma-informed principles to your programs (both online and in-person) to make programming as inclusive and accessible as possible

Integrating simple behavioural change methods that help learners build positive new habits and achieve their goals

6 live lessons learning how to use tools and frameworks with clients and in the design of your work, including feedback

Small peer group calls that provide an opportunity for small group discussion and sharing

A participant workbook including exercises and tools

Access to a private online community with regular resources and free trainings, including exclusive monthly live Q+A calls

Recordings of all facilitated sessions (available for 6 months after the training)

The Cognitive Triangle, a framework for understanding how to design effective applied learning
A simple framework for developing clear and useful Learning Objectives that you can use to design your programming
The Zones of Regulation framework, a simple model that you can use to understand and discuss with your clients the neurobiology of stress responses and the importance of designing learning with a trauma-informed lens
The Input-Exercise-Debrief formula, a method for designing the flow of your workshops so they are maximally engaging and effective
The SAMHSA Principles of Trauma-Informed Practice, which you can use to ensure your programming is accessible to clients who have experienced harm

Learning Together is a Prerequisite for Learning Together 2 and participation in the Adult Learning Technical Assistance Group.
80% attendance and submission of final assignment are required for certification.
